Before joining the armed services, the native of Newberry, Florida (just outside Gainesville, FL)
handled office manager duties for a highly successful roofing company, handling all of the quarterly taxes, payroll for over 40 employees, along with vendor and customer orders.

Moving to the High Country in 2004, Maryann took on General Manager duties for the Boone, NC office of a nationwide income tax preparer.
Her duties included assist and advise on income tax preparation, in charge of hiring employees, employee training and tax preparation school along with leading the local marketing campaign.
